LEAD PSYCHOLOGIST

Renee Goosen | BSci (Psy) MPsych (Couns) MPsych (Clin) MAPS

Renee Goosen, is passionate about empowering clients and their families with effective and evidence-based treatment options focused on bringing sustainable change. Her warm, engaging and empathic nature aims to create a relaxed, safe and non-judgemental atmosphere for her clients. Renee completed both her undergraduate and postgraduate education and specialist training in Australia. Renee’s competence in assessing and treating a wide range of emotional and mental health conditions is supported by her post graduate training in both counselling and clinical psychology. Renee is a Clinical Psychologist Registrar and a member of the Australian Psychological Society.

Renee is trained in the assessment and treatment of symptoms associated with a wide range of psychiatric illnesses. In her clinical practice, she has particular expertise in helping older adolescents and adults manage challenging transitions in life, as well as dealing with difficult life experiences and complex relationships. Renee works with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, adjustment and personality issues.

Renee has trained and worked in multidisciplinary community health services, university clinics, and hospitals environments, where treatment provided was both individual and group-based. Renee also enjoys lecturing at training colleges and tertiary institutes in NSW. She has published a number of articles relating to student resilience and co-authored a book “Determined to Success. Student Stories of Resilience”.

Renee is an endorsed Mental Health First Aid trainer, and is passionate about increasing mental health literacy within the community and corporate settings.
